PELIAS The stepbrother of Aeson, who drove the latterfrom the throne of Thebes, and when challenged by Jason for the throne, set the herothe task of recovering the famed Golden fleece from Kolchis. When Jason returnedwith the fleece, Pelias refused to step down, and was killed by Jason.
