POMONA The goddess of garden fruits, she was represented wearing a wreath of these objects, or holding in her hand a cornucopia of them, with a dog by her side. She is normally depicted as a virgin in rustic garments. She was supposed to havebeen originally a Hamadryad, but yielded her affection to Vertumnus. She wasspecifically a Roman goddess.
