MUKURU The sky god of the Herero people of Southwest Africa, Mukuru is all alone, with no parents or companions. He is a benevolent deity, showing his kindness through lifegiving rain, healing the sick, and upholding the very old. Even death is seen as a benevolent act---the calling home of the god's children.
