ADROA The God of the Lugbara, who dwell in the area between Zaire and Uganda. Adroa had two aspects: good and evil. He was looked on as the creator of heaven and Earth, and was said to appear to a person who was about to die. Adroa was represented as tall and white, with only half a body---one eye, one ear, one arm, one leg. His children, the Adroanzi, frequented streams, large trees and rocks, and were fond of following people at night. Provided the person followed did not look back, they would be safe. But if they glanced over their shoulder, the Adroanzi would kill them.
