William Baldwin (born February 21, 1963 in Massapequa, New York) is an American actor. He is best known for his early starring roles in such films as Backdraft and Flatliners. He also starred alongside Cindy Crawford in the 1995 film, Fair Game. He has continued to act in films and on television, but has not taken many lead roles. He was very well received in a supporting role in the 2005 film The Squid and the Whale. He has worked in the film industry since age fifteen, and worked earlier as a model. He obtained a degree in political science from Binghamton University. His brothers Daniel, Stephen and Alec are also notable actors (see the Baldwin brothers). Since 1995, he has been married to singer Chynna Phillips, daughter of John and Michelle Phillips, who herself is known for being a singer of the trio Wilson Phillips. He has two children.
