| Biography: | T.J. Duckett (born February 17, 1981) is an American football running back who currently plays for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. He was drafted by the Falcons out of Michigan State University in the 1st round of the 2002 NFL draft with the 18th pick overall. Known almost exclusively as T.J. Duckett. He was implemented as the third portion of the Atlanta Falcons "DVD" (Dunn, Vick, Duckett) rushing offense of 2003 to the present. Weighing more than 250 pounds, he was used mostly as a change of pace from the 180 pound starter Warrick Dunn, and has been the muscle of the DVD running game. Has come under some criticism after the end of the Falcons' 2005-2006 season due to a drop in production, with critics believing that University of Miami safety Ed Reed should have been selected with the first round pick instead. Reed ended up going to the Baltimore Ravens. Also of note was Duckett's preseason injury, which may have contributed to the drop in effectiveness. |
