Salli Richardson (born November 23, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois) is a movie actress born to Marcia Harris, a Cherokee and African-American mother and Duel Richardson, an Irish/Italian American father. She grew up in Chicago, where she played high school tennis, and launched her acting career in the Kuumba Workshop theater there.
On September 8, 2002, she married long-time beau, Dondre Whitfield, a fellow actor. During their courtship, her relationship with actor Matthew McConaughey came under scrutiny by media and public, however Richardson claims they were only friends. She and Whitfield have one daughter, Parker Richardson Whitfield.
Salli has acted in numerous movies including A Low Down Dirty Shame, Posse, Lillie, and Book of Love. She has also guest starred in numerous television shows such as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Silk Stalkings, New York Undercover, The Pretender and Secret Agent Man. Richardson had a recurring role as "Kim" on the show Mercy Point, and played Viveca Foster on the television drama Family Law. She voiced the character of Elisa Maza on the animated series Gargoyles.
