Rod Smart (born January 9, 1977, Lakeland, Florida) is an American football player for the Oakland Raiders. He played for the Super Bowl XXXVIII runner-up Carolina Panthers as a kick return man/running back. He is most widely known for his XFL debut jersey name He Hate Me. Smart formerly played for the Philadelphia Eagles. On March 1, 2006, Smart was released by the Panthers for salary cap reasons. He was picked up by the Raiders sometime before their Minicamp (which was on May 5).
