Peri Gilpin (born Peri Kay O'Brien on May 27, 1961, in Waco, Texas) is one of the children of the late Jim O'Brien (died in 1983 after a skydiving accident), a Baptist minister who became a musician, and a well-known and respected radio and TV News weatherman/personality in Philadelphia. Her siblings, Marc Gilpin and April Gilpin are also actors. Peri was known as Peri Kay Oldham later on, before becoming an actress. She was raised in Dallas, Texas, and studied acting at the University of Texas at Austin and the British-American Academy in London. She is best known for her character Roz Doyle on the very successful U.S. television series Frasier.
Gilpin is the voice for the character Jane Proudfoot in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. She also provides the voice of Desiree in the Nickelodeon animated television series, Danny Phantom, and is the voice of Volcana in Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited.
She married Christian Vincent on July 31, 1999. The couple adopted twins born via a surrogate mother in 2004, for which they were paid $50,000 plus a trip to Hawaii.
