Omar Chkhaidze (born 16 April 1944) is a Russian painter and artist. Born in Tbilisi, Georgia, Chkhaidze studied with various artists in Georgia and the USSR. Omar graduated from Art School in 1966, then attended the Academy of Arts in Tbilisi in 1973.
Chkhaidze has been exhibiting annually since he was a student; in Tblisi, Georgia and Moscow. International exhbitions include:
1969 - Leningrad 1970 - Paris 1992 - Austria 1993 - Germany 1999 - The Netherlands 2001 - Italy 2002 - New York, Germany 2003 - The Netherlands 2004 - London, Australia Paintings by Omar Chkhaidze are in museums in Russia, Georgia and in the collection of the Pope in the Vatican. His work is also in the collection of many European galleries as well as private collectons. Chkhaidze runs a personal gallery in Moscow and has published a monograph of his work.
