Mike Lieberthal (January 18, 1972 in Glendale, California), is a Major League Baseball catcher who plays for the Philadelphia Phillies. Mike's father is Jewish, though Mike personally chooses not to identify with any religion. He bats and throws right-handed. Lieberthal made his Major League debut June 30, 1994.
As of May 5, 2006, Lieberthal has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a left knee bone contusion after being hit by a pitched ball in a game against the Atlanta Braves.
In a 12-year career, Lieberthal is a .275 hitter with 141 home runs and 580 RBI in 1127 games. He has 1099 hits in 3996 at bats.
Lieberthal also appeared in the motion picture "Summer Catch" in 2001 alongside fellow teammates Doug Glanville & Pat Burrell, as well as fellow MLB stars such as Hank Aaron, Ken Griffey Jr., Dave Collins, among others.
