Mayim Bialik (born December 12, 1975 in San Diego, California, USA) is an American actress, best known for her lead role of Blossom Russo in the early-1990s NBC television sitcom Blossom.
In 1989, she also won the Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Fantasy" for her role in Beaches (1988). She was also known for her guest role of Lisa Woodman in MacGyver. After the end of Blossom, she took time out from acting to attend UCLA. She earned a bachelor's degree in 2000 in neuroscience and Hebrew and Jewish studies. She then went on to the Ph. D. program in neuroscience. She took a break from these studies in 2005 to return to acting .
After over ten years away from show business, Bialik appeared in the feature film, Kalamazoo? released in late 2005. She also recently appeared in an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm on HBO. She played Jodi Funkhowser, the daughter of a friend of Larry David, who's originally a lesbian, begins dating a man, then becomes a lesbian again thanks to Larry.

Bialik's husband is Michael Stone. She gave birth at age 29 to a baby boy on October 11, 2005. This is her first child.
