Luis Leal (born March 21, 1957), born Luis Enrique Leal Alvarado, is a former right-handed starting pitcher in Major League Baseball who played in the American League for the Toronto Blue Jays between 1980 and 1985. Leal was born in Barquisimeto, Lara State, Venezuela. His best season was 1984, when he posted a record of 13-8, with a 3.89 ERA and 134 strikeouts. In his career with the Jays, he had a record of 51-58, with 491 strikeouts, a 4.14 ERA and 3 shutouts in 946 innings pitched. At the time of his retirement in 1985, Leal ranked behind only Jim Clancy and Dave Stieb among the Blue Jays' career leaders in starts, innings, wins, losses, strikeouts, and walks.
