Lindsey Hunter (born December 3, 1970, in Utica, Mississippi) is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He is currently a point and shooting guard for the Detroit Pistons, in active rotation off the bench. Lindsey Hunter has played with the Pistons for most of his career, for seven seasons from 1993 to 2000 and then again from September 2003 to the present. He was actually traded to the Boston Celtics in February 2004 along with Chucky Atkins for Mike James, but he never played a game for the Celtics as he was immediately released and re-signed by Detroit 10 days later. He has also played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Toronto Raptors, and was part of both the Lakers' 2001-2002 championship team and the Pistons' 2003-2004 championship team.
On offense, Hunter has been a high-percentage three-point shooter throughout his career, several times topping the list of three-point shots made in a season. Defensively, he has a very scrappy style of play and is known to steal the ball frequently, currently ranked fourth in steals per 48 minutes.
