Leonard Farbstein Leonard Farbstein, a Representative from New York, was born in New York City on October 12, 1902. He graduated from High School of Commerce and attended City College of New York, New York, Hebrew Union Teachers College and graduated from New York University Law School, in 1924. He worked as a lawyer in his private practice. Later, he became member of the New York state assembly from 1932-1956. Married Blossom Langer in 1947. Son Louis born in 1948. During the First World War Farbstein served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve He was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-fifth and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1957-January 3, 1971). He died on November 9, 1993, in New York, N.Y.
