Joseph D. Early (Born 1933) is an American politician. He is a represented the third district of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1993. Early was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on January 31, 1933 He attended parochial schools in Worcester; B.S., College of the Holy Cross, graduated in 1955. He served in United States Navy, 1955-1957; taught high school in Shrewsbury and Spencer. He served six terms in Massachusetts house of representatives, 1963-1974; delegate to Massachusetts State Democratic conventions, 1964-1970; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1975-January 3, 1993); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1992 to the One Hundred Third Congress.
