John Henry Kyl (May 9, 1919-December 23, 2002), was an American politician from Iowa. He was born in Wisner, Nebraska and graduated from Nebraska State Teachers College and the University of Nebraska. He was a teacher at Nebraska State Teachers College from 1940 to 1950. He also worked as a television journalist.
As a Republican, he served as U.S. Representative from Iowa's 4th District from 1959 to 1965 and again from 1967 to 1973. He was defeated in House runs in 1958, 1964, and 1972. He was assistant secretary for congressional and legislative affairs in the Department of the Interior from 1973 to 1977.
He was the father of Jon Kyl, a Senator from Arizona.
