John E. Erickson (March 14, 1863 - May 25, 1946) was an American politican of the Democratic Party from Montana. He was born in Wisconsin and later lived in Kansas. He graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in 1890; studied law; admitted to the bar in 1891 at Eureka, Kansas. He began practicing law in Choteau, Montana in 1893. He served as county attorney of Teton County 1897-1905, then judge of the eleventh judicial district of Montana 1905-1915 until he resumed the practice of law at Kalispell, Montana in 1916.
He served as Governor of Montana 1925-1933 and then appointed on March 13, 1933 as a Democrat to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Thomas J. Walsh and served until November 6, 1934 when a successor was elected. He was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination in 1934 to fill the vacancy. He resumed the practice of law in Helena, Montana until his death in 1946.
