Jessi Colter as born Mirriam Johnson on May 25, 1943. Although best known as the wife of Waylon Jennings and the mother of Shooter Jennings, she is an American country music singer and composer in her own right. After a brief marriage to Duane Eddy ended, she married Jennings in 1969. Songs she wrote and sang include "Storms Never Last" and "What's Happened To Blue Eyes" (aka "I'm Looking For Blue Eyes"). Far and away her biggest hit was "I'm Not Lisa", which broke into the top 5 of the American pop charts in the summer of 1975. She also sang duets with Jennings (including a cover of Elvis Presley's hit "Suspicious Minds") and accompanied him on concert tours. Since Jennings' death in 2002 she has toured with their son Shooter. On February 28, 2006 Colter released her first album in 21 years called "Out of the Ashes".
