James V. Hansen (born August 14, 1932) was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from Utah. Vear was born in Salt Lake City. From 1951 until 1955 he was in the United States Navy. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1961. From 1973 until 1980 he was in the Utah State House of Representatives and was speaker of the house from 1979 until 1980. He was elected to Congress in 1980 and represented Utah's 1st district from January 3, 1981 until January 3, 2003.
