George Van Haltren (March 30, 1866 - September 29, 1945) was an American center fielder in Major League Baseball who also pitched and played shortstop infrequently. He batted and threw left-handed. Van Haltren played with the Chicago Cubs for the first 3 years of his career, and played the last 10 with the New York Giants. He played with a number of teams in between. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri.
His career statistics include a .316 batting average with 69 home runs and 1014 RBIs. He also ended his career with 2532 hits and 583 stolen bases. He was tied for the lead in triples in 1896, with Tom McCreery. They had 21.
He died in Oakland, California at the age of 79.
