George McNamara (August 26, 1886 in Penetang, Ontario - March 10, 1952) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who played for the Montreal Shamrocks, Toronto Tecumsehs, and Toronto Blueshirts. George was one best open ice checkers of his day. He would help the Blueshirts win the 1914 Stanley Cup. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1958.
