Geoff Tate (born Geoffrey Wayne Tate, on January 14, 1959, in Stuttgart, West Germany) is an American singer, best known for his work with the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. Shortly after his birth his family relocated to Tacoma, Washington. He joined Queensrÿche in 1981. In 1982 the band released their self produced and self titled debut EP. In 2002 Tate released his first, and to date only, solo album. The album, which was self-titled, was released by Sanctuary Records.
