Exene Cervenka (born Christine Cervenka on February 1, 1956 in Chicago), is best known as vocalist and original member of punk rock band X. She has also performed and recorded solo work doing spoken word. Over the years she has also been known as Christene Cervenka, Exene Cervenkova, and Christene Edge (her married name). As of 2004, she lives in Los Angeles performing with X and her new band Original Sinners. She also works as a teacher and librarian.
She and her ex-husband, Viggo Mortensen, have a son Henry.
Currently plays with the band The Original Sinners on Nitro Records.
