Ed Begley, Jr. (born September 16, 1949 in Los Angeles, California) is an actor (son of veteran character actor Ed Begley) and environmentalist best known for his work on the television series St. Elsewhere, for which he won five consecutive Emmy Award nominations. Other numerous works in television and film include a recurring role on Arrested Development and Six Feet Under and starring roles in Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital and Wednesday 9:30 (8:30 Central). Additionally, Begley played Boba Fett in the radio adaptation of Return of the Jedi and Seth Gillette, a fictional Democratic U.S. senator from North Dakota in the television drama West Wing.
He also is recognized for his environmentalism and his support of eco-friendly products like the Toyota Prius and Begley's Best Household Cleaner.
Since 2000, Begley has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
A vegetarian for many years, his home is completely solar powered and he usually rides bicycles or uses public transportation.
He has guest starred on shows such as Scrubs, Boston Legal and Star Trek: Voyager.
