Diane Kruger (born Diane Heidkrüger) (born July 15, 1976 near Hildesheim, Germany) is a German model and actress. She started her career as a dancer in London when she was still young, but after an injury she changed her mind and went to Paris to become a model at the age of 15. After a while Diane became interested in acting and soon landed small appearances. She then changed her last name from the original 'Heidkrüger' to 'Kruger' to support her Hollywood career. From 2001 to 2006, Diane was married to French actor Guillaume Canet. She made her onscreen debut in 2002 opposite Dennis Hopper and Christopher Lambert in The Piano Player. She plays Françoise in Louis-Pascal Couvelaire's Michel Vaillant and Lisa in Wicker Park (2004) with Josh Hartnett. Her most notable role to date is her portrayal of Helen in Wolfgang Peterson's epic Troy. In 2004, she starred in the popular film National Treasure, going on to appear in movies such as Joyeux Noël (2005) and Copying Beethoven (2006).
