Chris Jericho (born Christopher Keith Irvine on November 9, 1970 in Manhasset, New York), is a Canadian musician and currently inactive professional wrestler, best known for his career with World Wrestling Entertainment between August 1999 and August 2005.
Although he was born in the USA, Jericho was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and holds Canadian citizenship. His father, Ted Irvine, is a former National Hockey League player. Jericho's stage name was not directly inspired by the ancient city of Jericho, but in part due to a heavy metal album entitled "Walls Of Jericho" by the German band Helloween. Jericho is the only person to have held both the WCW and ECW Television Championships.
