Carlos Garcia Carlos Jesús GarcÃa Guerrero (born October 15, 1967 in Táchira State, Venezuela), best known as Carlos GarcÃa, is a former Major League Baseball second baseman and right-handed batter who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1990-96), Toronto Blue Jays (1997), Anaheim Angels (1998) and San Diego Padres (1999). For nearly three seasons, GarcÃa had been sitting at the Pirates' AAA Buffalo farm team waiting for his chance to play in the major leagues. He had nothing left to prove in the minors. GarcÃa had his best season yet at Buffalo in 1992, batting .303, with 13 home runs and 70 runs batted in.
An outstanding shortstop with great range and a strong arm, with the Pirates' trade of José Lind, and Jay Bell entrenched at shortstop, GarcÃa took an opportunity at second base. He enjoyed his best seasons in 1995-96 batting for .294 and .285.
In 610-games career, GarcÃa hit for .266 (580-2178), with 73 homers, 197 RBI, 274 runs scored, 102 doubles, 17 triples and 73 stolen bases.
