Ben Burnley (born March 10, 1978) in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, raised in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania) is the vocalist and guitarist for the band Breaking Benjamin. Before he formed Breaking Benjamin he earned money by playing cover songs in various coffee houses. He wrote all of the songs on We Are Not Alone alongside bandmate Aaron Fink. Ben cites his main influences as Kurt Cobain, Maynard James Keenan, and Jonathan Davis. His lyrics are often quite personal, and in the intense ballad "No Games" from the band's debut album Saturate, he even mentions his off-and-on girlfriend Briana by name.
Ben has noted on several occasions that he doesn't consider Breaking Benjamin an original band. "When fans come up and say, 'Wow, your sound is so original,' I'm just like, '...Really?'" He has said that he simply combines elements of other bands' sounds to create the sound of Breaking Benjamin.
