Augustus O. Stanley (May 21, 1867 - August 12, 1958) was governor of Kentucky from 1915 to 1918. A Democrat, Stanley served the Bluegrass State as a presidential elector and U.S. representative before winning the governorship in 1915. Born in 1867 in Shelbyville, Kentucky, he later served as U.S. senator from 1919 - 1925; he died in Washington, D.C., in August 1958 and is buried in Frankfort, Kentucky. His grandson was Owsley Stanley.
