Anna Massey Anna Massey, CBE (born August 11, 1937) is a British actress. She was born in Thakeham, Surrey, England, the daughter of successful actor, Raymond Massey. Her late brother, Daniel Massey, also went into acting.
Anna Massey made her film debut in 1958, appearing in Michael Powell's Peeping Tom in 1960 and in Alfred Hitchcock's Frenzy in 1972, but has become better known as a television actress, appearing in classic dramas such as The Pallisers (1974), the 1978 adaptation of Rebecca (in which she starred along with her ex-husband, Jeremy Brett) and The Mayor of Casterbridge (1978). She is the narrator of This Sceptred Isle on BBC Radio.
In the New Year's Honours List published 31 December 2004 she was created a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to Drama.
